Beth H. Hodess

Beth Hodess Dale Law FirmBeth H. Hodess joined the Dale Law Firm as an associate attorney in February 2025. Beth graduated with highest honors from the Golden Gate University School of Law in 2009, where she also earned a Litigation Certificate. She earned her LL.M. in Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2013. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business in 1999.

Prior to joining the Dale Law Firm, Beth worked as solo tax attorney and mediator, specializing in tax controversy and policy, nonprofit formation and governance, elder and dependent adult abuse, skilled nursing facility abuse and neglect, conservatorships, and probate. Beth spent twenty years as a self-employed management consultant in her pre-legal professional life.

She is admitted to the California Bar, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. District Court of the Eastern and Northern Districts of California. The Alameda County Board of Supervisors appointed her to serve as a legal hearing officer on the Alameda County Assessment Appeals Board, a position she held for 4.5 years; former board member and president of the Board of Directors of Chaparral Foundation Nursing Home, a Five-Star independent nonprofit skilled nursing facility; former At-Large appointee to the City of Oakland Public Safety and Services Oversight Commission (SSOC); Member of Alameda County Budget Advisory Committee: League of Women Voters’ Representative; and Current Chair of the Queen’s Bench Reproductive Rights and Legislative Advocacy Committee.

In 2018, she was recognized by the San Francisco Bar Association’s Justice and Diversity Center for her outstanding contributions to the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic Program (LITC). In 2023, she was the recipient of the ABA Tax Analyst Public Service Fellowship.
