We are looking for an Associate Attorney for the Dale Law Firm in Pacheco (Martinez), California. The Dale Law Firm is a unique law firm that is entirely focused on serving the estate planning and management of settlements for persons with disabilities and their families. The ideal candidate is someone with experience serving persons with disabilities and their families and is looking for a long-term working situation.
The Dale Law Firm is a boutique law firm in Contra Costa County specializing trust establishment of both self settled and 3rd party special needs trusts, conservatorships and estate planning is seeking to add an individual experienced estate planning and related activities for person with special needs and their families to its team.
The Dale Law Firm has made significant contributions to the development of estate planning and management of settlements for persons with disabilities and their families. We work every day to cultivate trusted relationships with our clients, our employees and our community.
Much of the work can be done virtually, though ability to balance working in our Pacheco office and at home virtually desirable.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Activities include drafting of self settled trusts and overseeing accountings for cases under court supervision.
- Work with our paralegal team through the conservatorship and guardianship processes including overseeing the preparation of Petitions, Inventories and Appraisals; Accountings and the like.
- Drafting estate planning documents (Revocable Living Trusts, Third Party Special Needs Trust, Wills, Advance Health Care Directives, Durable Powers of Attorney, Trust Transfer Deeds, etc.) and record documents with the County Office.
- Correspond, communicate and work directly with clients to respond to their questions, requests, etc. and set appointments.
Skills and Competencies
- Prior experience in issues related to community living for persons with disabilities a plus.
- Must be dependable and a self-starter who can work well under minimal supervision, is proactive and team oriented.
- The ideal applicant will have exemplary organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task and set priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- We are looking for someone who is good at connecting with others and is able to easily converse with clients and make them feel welcome, both in person and on the telephone.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in probate, conservatorships and/or special needs planning is a bonus but can be learned.
- We are seeking someone interested in working at the Dale Law Firm for a minimum of 3-5 years.
- Notary Public a plus
